Some of the topics covered in this book include strange attractors, fractal geometry, and universality. I thought this book was fascinating and written well enough to flow even among the most abstract of its ideas. It provides good intuition about the subject, and is a mostly gentle introduction to the lingo of dynamic systems. It is written in a historical style, however, so it takes some work if you want to purely extract the concepts.
